Frequently Asked Questions

What is the cancellation/no-show policy?

We understand that life happens and some things are out of your control, but we ask that you give us advance notice by close of business the day before your appointment if you are unable to make it. Failure to do so will result in payment being required upfront for any future appointments.

What should I do to get ready for my ultrasound experience?

This technology DOES NOT work well if you do not drink enough water. WHY water? Water hydrates you and your body then increases the amount of amniotic fluid. This is the fluid needed and used to render your images. Positions of baby you cannot control, but you are the sole person that determines the CLARITY of your images. The more amniotic fluid the clearer the images tend to be, regardless of which way baby is facing. Also this helps push the placenta off of the baby’s face. You DO NOT need a full bladder, you may eat at anytime, but again you MUST drink the normal 2 Liters of water a day (8 glasses or 64 oz) for 3 full days leading up to your appointment time. We also recommend that you pay attention and book your appt based on baby’s movements. Does your baby go straight to sleep after you eat? Does your baby wake up and move after you eat? Is your baby active at 9am or 6pm?

What should I wear?

We recommend that you come with comfortable loose clothing or even leggings. Jeans are very difficult to work with since the baby’s head is usually down. You will NOT have to unrobe and this is ALWAYS an external ultrasound so only your belly will be exposed.

Can you tell the gender of my baby?

YES, we have the technology and resources to determine gender. Your only job is to drink the recommended amount of water, which is the normal 2L a day. The rest is up to us at Bump Life Studios. If you are 16 weeks or later we rarely ever let you leave until the baby shows the gender. We can not however guarantee that the baby will cooperate during your session. Certain factors such as maternal tissue, hydration, developmental stage and fetal position all affect the ability to determine gender. If your baby is not cooperating, you can come back within a week at no additional fee.

Is it safe? Are there any risks for me or my baby?

Extensive studies have found that Ultrasounds have not been shown to cause any harm to mother or baby. 3D/4D scanning uses exactly the same type and intensity of Ultrasound used with conventional 2D scanning.

4D Ultrasound will be similar to a conventional scan in terms of exposure. The difference is that instead of viewing one slice of a picture as in 2D we can now capture points from multiple dimensions.

How will I be able to see my pictures and clips?

We send your experience directly to your phone via email where you can access it shortly after leaving the studio. No more ripping images from a CD to your computer then to your mobile device or social media!  Download them directly to any device from your email and immediately begin sharing with family and friends or post the images on your social media pages.
